St
Peter’s Primary
In spring 2002 KCG were approached by a parent whose child attends St Peter’s
Primary school on Chancellor St in the west end. The school had a former rooftop
playground which had remained unused for over 12 years.
Staff wanted to bring the roof space back in to use as an educational and quiet
area and the school received help from many organisations to create a beautiful
rooftop garden. KCG assisted by providing design ideas, native and other wildlife-friendly
plants, large wooden planter boxes, trellises and labour, courtesy of the Scottish
Wildlife Trust.
The completed garden is a very attractive space in which children can play and
learn, staff and parents can relax and wildlife can find a refuge in the heart
of the city.
